Three Points To Consider When Buying Staffing Software

by Beverly Aarons 17. April 2012 08:43

Purchasing the right staffing software for your recruiting business is important but comes with its own set of challenges.  No two recruiters have identical software needs so they will need to consider their individual business goals when choosing staffing software. Below are three points that a recruiter should consider when looking to purchase staffing software:

  1. Do you need comprehensive staffing software, or software that can handle specific functions? If you have existing software for your recruiting business, you need to decide whether you want to replace the entire system or simply augment it.  Ask yourself, do you need software to deal with invoicing?  Are you searching for software that can improve your job candidate screening process?  How will clients interact with the new software you’re considering? The best way to determine what type of software you need is by first assessing the performance of your existing software.
  2. Do you want software designed specifically for the legal field or will a general staffing software system serve your needs? Depending on your needs, staffing software specifically for the legal industry may work better. However, sometimes general staffing software is just as effective.  The best thing you can do is to find out if others in your industry have successfully used the software you’re considering.
  3. How effectively can the vendor move data from your existing staffing system to the new one?  Moving data from your old system to your new one in an efficient manner is critical. Purchasing software from a vendor who does not offer data migration could cause you more headaches in the long-term.
