Even if
you’re running a one-man recruiting company, creating systems can benefit your
operations. Below are a few tips and tricks for creating effective systems in
your recruiter business:
- Indentify and categorize
your most important tasks. For
example, sales are probably the most important aspect of any business, so
let’s use sales as an example of how to create effective systems.
- Next, write down all the
major actions involved in completing the task. If your task is sales, this might
include a) identifying prospects, b) contacting prospects, c) following up
with prospects, d) meeting face-to-face with prospects, e) securing the
sale, f) sending a contract, g) receiving a deposit etc. Be sure to break down each task.
- Now, take the take to break
down each action into smaller tasks. Ask yourself, what actions I do take
to complete each task listed in Step #2?
For example, indentifying prospects may first require you to make a
list, do research, or attend some events to find the right kind of
prospects. Whatever it is that you
need to do to accomplish the task right it out in detail.
- Once you have collected all
the data, make sure you create a simple but detailed roadmap of how you
complete each task. Even if you
don’t plan to hire employees or outsource your work, creating this roadmap
will give you a better look at your own process. Examining the process creates an
opportunity to make improvements that may save you time or increase your
profits.
