If you think that the legal recruiting industry has gone through changes
in the last few years, there are a lot more changes coming down the line. Let’s
take a look at a few:
1. In the arena of
college recruiting, legal recruiters have moved from sourcing tops schools in
their state to traveling around the country to tap into the resources of other
top law school. But tomorrow’s legal recruiter will need to source top law
schools around the globe not by physically going there but by skillfully using
social media tools to connect to the best students who meet their client’s
needs.
2. When it comes
to finding quality job candidates, most legal recruiters want to source talent
who have the skills necessary for the current job opportunity and their next
level job if they were to be promoted. But many employers are looking for more,
they not only want a job candidate who is prepared to advance in their job; but
one who can quickly learn new skills so that they can step into opportunities
which have yet to be indentified.
3. Remote
workplaces are destined to become more common. Currently, when legal recruiters
find non-local job candidates they need to make sure that they are prepared to
relocate. But in the future, legal recruiters may need to find job candidates
who are ready and disciplined enough to work without supervision from their
home-based office.
