One of the
biggest misconceptions that many job seekers have is that the holiday season is
a bad time to look for a job. That
couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Below are three reasons why job seekers should ramp up their job search
during the holiday season:
1.
Companies
are still looking for job candidates.
Just because many employees are on vacation doesn’t mean that a
company’s staffing needs are on hold.
If you’re continuing your job search during the holidays you will face
some challenges scheduling interviews around vacation time but you won’t find
recruiter and employer doors closed; they are still looking to fill their open
positions.
2.
Hiring
managers are facing year-end deadlines and one of their responsibilities is to
fill open positions for the start of the next year. Some recruiters and
employers are pushing even harder to find the right job candidates during the
holiday season because of these year-end deadlines. If you continue your job search during the November –
December holiday season you just might be at an advantage.
3.
There
will be less competition for jobs during the holiday. Because of the myth that no one is hiring during the holiday
season, many job candidates will “power-down” during November and December
giving more savvy job seekers an edge. Take advantage of a less crowded job
marketplace to contact even more prospective employers.
