Despite the old
saying that change is good, there are some changes that are more profitable
than others when it comes to running your recruiting business. If you’re like most recruiters you want
to make the improvements that take the least amount of effort, time and money
but that will deliver the maximum value to your business. Below are five tips for making small
but highly profitable changes to your recruiting business:
1.
Identify
the most important aspect of your business. This part of your business should be the tasks or activities
which impact your bottom-line the most.
2.
Once
you identify this area of your business take the time to find out how you can
improve the way you do this task or activity. Don’t just look for the most obvious improvements; try to
think creatively about how you can improve this part of your recruiting
business in not so obvious ways.
3.
Once
you have come up with a blueprint for how you will improve this important
aspect of your business, move immediately to implement the change. Don’t expect to get it perfect the
first time and don’t delay implementation in the hope that you can perfect your
plans for improvement. One of the biggest challenges independent recruiters
face is waiting until conditions are perfect before choosing to act.
4.
Once
you have begun using your new system or tool designed to improve your business,
take the time to measure and document how it is actually impacting your
business. Give it a few months to work and then analyze your data to determine
if it is really more profitable.
5.
Once
you have determined that your improvement is profitable check in with yourself
periodically to make sure that you are using the system the way you originally
intended and that it is still profitable over the long-term.
